Our Story
Dr. John Pavlakis earned his Bachelor of Science at SUNY New Paltz before continuing his dental education at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where his classmates elected him class president. Following graduation, he built a foundation in public health dentistry before practicing in Keene, New Hampshire. In August 2023, he brought that same patient-first philosophy home to Connecticut, joining Advanced Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in Middletown to be closer to family.
Dr. Pavlakis stays current through ongoing coursework in dental implants, third molar extractions, and Invisalign, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Connecticut Dental Society, the Middlesex Dental Society, and the Shoreline Dental Society. He also exchanges ideas with fellow dentists through the Seattle Study Club and Synergy Study Club. As a non-restricted, out-of-network provider, he and his team are free to build every treatment plan around what's actually best for the patient in the chair, not what an insurance company will approve.
